Laura Muneton
Intake Manager
Laura’s journey has been shaped by the vibrant landscapes of Medellín, Colombia, and the bustling energy of Bergenfield, New Jersey. Growing up in two contrasting places, she cultivated a rich sense of cultural awareness and resilience. Today, she resides in Lawrence, Kansas, where she’s passionately pursuing her Ph.D. in Sociology.
Her passion for sociology began unexpectedly in an undergraduate social theory course, *Civilization and Its Discontents*. This course sparked a deep fascination with the study of social problems and the ways in which society can evolve to reduce suffering and inequality. With her doctoral studies, Laura is committed to using her knowledge to advocate for a more just and compassionate world.
Outside of her academic pursuits, Laura finds joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether she's biking along Kansas' dirt trails, baking delicious cookies, or losing herself in the thought-provoking works of Erich Fromm and other critical theorists, she is always seeking ways to stay connected to her passions.
Laura is excited to carry her expertise and compassion into a career where she can merge advocacy with inquiry, all in the service of creating a world with less suffering and more understanding.
